Have you ever seen a tech demo fail live? That's exactly why at the Meta Connect 2025 event, Mark Zuckerberg launched the Meta Ray-Ban Display Smart Glass. The whole world was watching, but the demo hoped it didn't go off the star.
What is Meta's AI Specs?
These glasses don't look like the usual Ray-Bans, but are packed inside with AI-powered smart features.
- There is a bright color display inside the lens itself
- A camera that can capture photos and videos
- And like a neural wristband, you can control glasses with just hand movements and gestures.
The main goal of glasses is to help users chat, information search, and video calls hands-free. Zuckerberg called it a "huge scientific breakthrough"—but then came demo time!
Live Demo Fiasco
On stage, Zuckerberg called chef Jack Mancuso, where the AI of the glasses had to guide a cooking recipe. But the glasses kept repeating the same instructions over and over again, a few steps were skipped, and the chef was confused. Logon ne blame diya WiFi glitch ko, but clear demo failed.
Later, Zuckerberg tried to make a WhatsApp video call just with gestures and wristbands. But Tech wasn't the only answer! In the end, Meta's CTO Andrew Bosworth had to be called on stage. Didn't do demo work even after practice.
"You practice 100 times, and yet anything can happen on a live stage.
And then they played a pre-recorded video that showed the glasses working perfectly—but the live audience was a little disappointed.
Reaction
I also see memes and jokes on social media. Some called it "shameful" and whether Pooch's glasses are even ready for public or not. Others said that this demo has made the buzz of AI magical confusing.
But, despite the awkward live moment, a lot of reviewers said that the features of the glasses are useful and this is a step towards smarter wearables.

Final Thoughts
Tech demos don't make us perfect—even companies like Meta have been launched. Zuckerberg's glasses showed a "shame" on the live stage, but the potential for the technology is huge. After a little more bug fixing, these glasses can change our daily interactions with AI.
